This is the story of a coffee bean and their journey, taking a risk and starting this travel blog. Coffee puns, despite how much I despise puns, are a part of my life. I’ve been a barista, or at least in the coffee industry, for the last 16 years. I started, as every barista does, as an unroasted green coffee bean. If you understand coffee and the different roasts, you understand what happens to coffee the longer you roast it. The purpose of roasting coffee is to enhance and compliment the flavors of the coffee bean that you are roasting. Understanding that coffee beans from different regions are going to have different flavor profiles based on the composition of the soils and growing conditions of the region. The way in which the coffee is processed is also going to affect the flavors of the coffee, from washed, semi-washed and dry processed coffees, they are each going to develop their own unique flavors. 

A little about my background outside of being a barista. I’m a graduate of Arizona State University with a degree in Creative Writing. I got really into travel writing while doing my degree, and it’s become something I have grown very passionate about. I haven’t had a lot of experience traveling beyond a few trips up to visit family in Utah. Over the last few years, I’ve been trying to travel more, taking personal trips that felt very selfish at the time because it meant that I possibly wouldn’t be able to go up and visit family. This only served to increase my love of traveling and I learned quickly that I wanted to find a way to do this full time. This is something that I am trying to do still as I actively pursue this dream. 

My desire for this blog is to share my stories and impart some small wisdom to anyone looking to travel more, or to travel to different locations. I hope that with building this site I will be able to travel to all the places in the world, to experience all the different cultures, and build on the love I have for travel.
